| C. Valentine Kirby was born in New York on July 19, 1875. Kirby taught art in the public schools of Denver, Colorado in 1900-06 and Los Angeles in 1910. After serving in the Army during WWI, he continued teaching in the public schools of Pittsburg, PA in 1920 and Harrisburg, PA in 1928-30. He died in Camp Hill, PA on September 27, 1947.
