This biography from the Archives of AskART:
 Born in Cedar Rapids, IA on April 2, 1882.  Keeler studied at Harvard University and Art Institute of Chicago. He was in Europe in 1909 and in 1912 came to California where he purchased a donkey and roamed about sketching the Sierra.  In 1932 he was in Iowa where he was a member of Grant Wood’s Stone City art colony and then returned to southern California.  He was a resident of Glendora and later Dana Point where he died ion Jan. 19, 1964. 

Member:  Calif. Printmakers; Chicago Society of Etchers. 

Exh:  Panama Pacific Int’l Expo, 1915; St Paul Inst., 1915 (silver medal).  In:  Library of Congress; Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Smithsonian Inst.
