The following, submitted August 2004, is from the artist.
Born in Chatham, Ontario Canada, in 1943, Cliff was the eldest of nine children. Raised on the farm, he naturally assumed he would be following in his father's footsteps. A penchant for drawing from an early age prompted him to convince his high school teachers that pencil portraits of historical figures would suffice for historical essays about those same famous people. Recognizing this talent led the guidance councillor to steer (showing 500 of 2089 characters). |
