| Born in 1915 in Cleveland, OH. Klein grew up in Cleveland and studied painting with George Fisher in Detroit. He then worked on cartoon shorts for a few years in Florida for the Max Fleisher Studios. Upon moving to California in the early 1940s, he settled in Los Angeles where he studied with Pruett Carter at the Chouinard Art Institute.
