This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Edwin Klink creates poetic landscapes in acrylic that are very similar in style, subject matter and method to the treescapes of his teacher, Robert Cook. Klink's paintings, like Cook's are intended to embrace the elements of light, mood and atmosphere and literally glow from within. They are imbued with a sense of peace and tranquility, providing a sanctuary from our often too busy lives. His trees stand as sentinels of the soul in the middle ground of time between the far horizon and everyday life. Klink, who paints in a minimalist style, describes his work as contemporary realism.

Ed Klink was born and raised in upstate New York. He has two brothers. He is married and has three grown children and six grandchildren. In addition to painting he finds great joy in fly fishing. He presently has studios in both Santa Fe, NM and Chandler, AZ.

Klink's road to art was winding. He graduated from West Point, did two tours in Vietnam, and then graduated from the Harvard Business School with high distinction. At the height of his successful business career he decided to give it all up to pursue something more creative. With encouragement from his wife Sheila he enrolled in a drawing class at the local art school. Within weeks he knew that he had found his next passion.

In the past few years, Klink's work has received numerous awards and accolades to include a feature article about his work in "Southwest Art Magazine"
