| Born in a small German town in 1939, Erich Klemm pursued a 5-year course at art school in Trier, Germany, from 1956 to 1961. After working for 7 years as an art director in Heidelberg, Klemm turned seriously to photography in 1968 when an image of his was published in Twen, one of Germany’s top magazines at the time. Willi Fleckhaus, the influential art director, offered him a job at the magazine. That same year, Klemm was recognized by the prestigious Art Director’s (showing 500 of 2098 characters). |
