| Primarily an illustrator for book covers, Kimbrough was born in Tennessee and lived in Rhode Island, also in England.
He studied at the Herkomer School in England in 1898.
A souvenir badge from the coronation of King Edward VII, on June 26, 1902 carries the following label: "From F. Richmond Kimbrough, associate of Charles Dana Gibson. While attending the King Edward coronation exercises as a guest he contracted a coal (sic) which developed into pneumonia and resulted in his death." Sources include: Who Was Who in American Art
