A painter whose specialty is garishly colorful abstracted
figures---"party revellers in bright, festive dresses; musicians
wrapped up in their instruments, tipplers, dreamers and dancers",
Geoffrey Key also paints pastoral landscapes. He lives in the
northwest part of England.
He was born in Manchester and attended the High School of Art in
Manchester. He eanred a National Diploma of Design and Diploma of
Associateship of Manchester from the Manchester Regional College of
Art. He was awarded a postgraduate scholarship in
sculpture. Awards include the Heywood medal in Fine Art and the
Guthrie Bond Traveling Scholarship.
