| Born in Wilmot, SD on Oct. 27, 1884. Kegg settled in San Francisco about 1900 and studied art with Perham Nahl, Richard Partington, and Frederick Meyer. After the earthquake and fire destroyed most of the city in 1906, he returned to South Dakota for a brief time where he lived and painted among the Sioux Indians. Kegg returned to San Francisco shortly thereafter and was employed as a cartoonist for the Examiner. During the 1920s he made painting excursions to Carmel, produced etchings, and (showing 500 of 802 characters). |
