| A painter born in Beaver Dam, WI on Oct. 17, 1876, Haidee Kenyon taught in the public schools of Chicago until 1926 when she joined her sister, Zula, in San Diego. The sisters were soon known for their extensive gardens off Nutmeg Street near Balboa Park.
Haidee was active in the local art scene and exhibited with the San Diego Art Guild during the 1920s and 1930s. She died in La Cresta, CA on April 1, 1944.
An Impressionist, her landscapes are characterized by small, feathery brush strokes and a colorful palette.
