Harald Knut-Ekwall was born on December 14, 1873 in Leipzig, Sachsen, Germany. He is the son of successful Swedish artist Knut Ekwall (1843-1912) and nephew of artist Emma Ekwall (1838-1930). Harald’s birth came during a brief period of time when his father was studying art in Leipzig. He has several siblings who were also artists, many of whom have artwork in the marketplace that often is confused with Harald’s and/or his father’s.
