Born in Ohio, and living in Iowa, Washington DC and Italy, Harriet Ann Ketcham is noted for her portrait and memorial sculpture and for her oil paintings, several which were painted at the Vatican. In Iowa, she is remembered for doing the winning design for the Iowa state soldiers' monument at Des Moines, and for the Vatican paintings, which were placed on the walls of the state capitol building.
She moved with her family to Iowa when she was five years old, settling in Burlin (showing 500 of 1716 characters). |
