| Painter. Born in Rock Island, IL on Oct. 8, 1884. Koen (neé Köhn) studied with C. F. Brown, Lathrop, Snell, and in Europe. She worked in California before 1916, the year she exhibited at the AIC scenes of the Monterey Peninsula. Summers were often spent in Massachusetts and Maine while based in Chicago. During the 1950s she was in Mexico; she later lived in Santa Barbara, CA and Washington, DC until her demise in July 1975.
