| Karl Franz Koch (188-1975)
Born in Sandusky, Ohio 1888, he died in Portland Oregon in 1975. Koch was raised in Minneapolis Minnesota, and at the age of 18 attended the New York Institute of Art and studied under Robert Henri. Although he attended classes with some of the future Ash Can artists like George Bellows and George Luks, he maintained his values as a conservative. He moved to Oregon after art school and worked with Foster and Kleiser outdoor advertising until his retirement.
