| Born in Chico, California, Katherine Kitt was a painter and teacher, who began her teaching career in California and then spent most of the remainder of her life in Arizona, where she moved in 1897. Her first teaching position there was at the Stafford Elementary School in Tucson. In 1924, she became an art instructor at the University of Arizona and later served for seventeen years as Chair of the art department at the University of Arizona, retiring in 1945, a month before her deat (showing 500 of 1399 characters). |
