A children's book illustrator, greeting card and commercial design artist and collaborator with her husband, Clayton Knight on books about aviation, Katharine Sturges was born in Chicago, where she attended the Art Institute. Then she traveled to Japan, and learning much about Asian art, applied that knowledge in a children's book, Little Pictures of Japan.
This Asian influence was apparent throughout her career, which including fashion design drawing for Harper's B (showing 500 of 1024 characters). |
