Kay Kato (1916-2006)
A Glen Ridge, New Jersey resident for 50 years, Kay Kato was one of the few well-known female cartoonists in a male-dominated profession. Her career spanned more than 60 years and produced 9,000 illustrations as well as many paintings. However, she will always be best remembered as a colorful local character, cartoonist, and illustrator, whose work was published nationally.
