| | Born in Switzerland on May 22, 1888. Kramer studied art in Berlin before immigrating to the U.S. By the late 1920s he had settled in San Francisco where he did wall decorations for contractors, murals in homes, and advertising posters for Shell Oil Company. Abandoning his art career in the 1930s, he worked as an upholsterer.
