Biography from Bingham Gallery:
| A Montana native Kraig Kiedrowski has lived and worked in New York, California, Montana Texas, and Utah. He studied painting and drawing at the Art Students League in New York, Leighton Studios in San Francisco, and Montana State University at Billings.
Kiedrowski's appreciation of natural beauty and the western landscape began at an early age while horseback riding, fishing mountain lakes, and helping out on his uncle's farm near his hometown in Montana. Showing an early talent for drawing, he attended Eastern Montana State University on an art scholarship, continuing his studies at the Art Students League in New York. Though many of his early works concentrated on figurative work and portraits, his return to Montana and the wide open spaces of the West convinced him that landscape painting was his true calling.
Kraig has concentrated on the valleys, hills and open spaces of California, Utah and Texas. Working in the plein-air tradition, he creates paintings that find their strength through the interpretation of light, atmosphere, and mood. Like Edward Hopper, Maynard Dixon, and the American Impressionists he admires, such as William Merritt Chase and Willard Metcalf, he seeks to create a singular statement of a subject he knows to be unique and transient.
Kraig currently living and working near San Antonio, Texas, conducts classes and workshops in plein-air landscape painting, still life, figure drawing and methods and materials.
