| | Born in San Francisco, CA in 1861. Leonore Lies studied at the local School of Design. By the 1880s she had married William Kothe and was active in the local art scene. Her illustrated articles appeared in the Chronicle. A lifelong resident of San Francisco, she died on June 26, 1935. Her paintings include still lifes, landscapes, and scenes of the San Francisco Bay area. Exh: Mechanics' Inst. (SF), 1886; Calif.
