Born in Cleveland, Georgia, Lila Keen was called the lady of the Camellias for her prize-winning camellias paintings. For her highly-regarded work that included magnolias and portraits, she received innumerable national awards and honors. Many of her original works and prints are in the Oconee Regional Library in Laurens County, Georgia, where they were donated by her family.
She studied at Agnes Scott College and with Wayman Adams, and she exhibited widely in the Southwest.
