| An art teacher at the University of Nebraska from 1933 to 1936, Louise Kelly was also a painter. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nebraska and then studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Art Students League of New York and with Hans Hoffman at his school in Munich. She exhibited her work in Nebraska and Iowa.
