MARY SHEPARD KLAR
Born in Buffalo, New York on 2 February 1882, Mary Shepard moved to Brooklyn to study art at the Pratt Institute. Upon graduation, she continued to live in New York City. Around 1910, she met and then married Walter Hughes Klar, a painter and teacher from Springfield, Massachusetts, also born in 1882. The couple settled in Massachusetts and worked together for many years on a variety of projects, including illustrations. Their son James Shepard (showing 500 of 1355 characters). |
