| The following information was submitted in July of 2006 by the artist: “I am drawn to the water and the beautiful coastal landscape. Springtime inspires me with its rich palette of colorful flowers. My paintings spark the imagination by capturing the essence of my subject. I invite my viewer to take a closer look, to participate in the painting, and to experience the reason I love to paint."
Maureen E. Kerstein has been awarded the honor of Signature Membership with the Georgia Watercolor Society. This gives the artist the honor of being able to use the societies initial after the artist’s name (GWS). Maureen is also a Juried Member of Aquafolio, a group of international artists exhibiting in 7 countries, and an Exhibiting Member of The Southern Watercolor Society.
Along with painting in her home studio, Maureen frequently meets with other artists to paint plein air and is a member of three plein air societies: Savannah Plein Air and Southern Women’s Art Conference and Georgia Plein Air.
