| Born on Jan. 5, 1875 in Sacramento, CA. Minnie's parents came to California from Germany with the Gold Rush and settled in the Sacramento Valley. While a teenager she studied locally at the Crocker Art Gallery under William Franklin Jackson. Under his guidance she became a competent painter of portraits and small still lifes. Minnie was active in the local art scene, and her work was shown in galleries in northern California. The wife of artist Charles Kemper and a (showing 500 of 794 characters). |
