| Pauline Karloff was born in Maine in 1901. Pauline, or Polly as she was called, was born Helen Vivian Soule. While living in Hollywood in 1928, Karloff was a professional dancer who studied at Chouinard Art Institute. She was the first wife of actor Boris Karloff; they were divorced in 1929.
