| Born in Ladizhen, Russia, Razul Kapustin studied at the Barnes Foundation in Merion, PA and with David A. Sigueiros. She was a member of the Philadelphia Art Alliance and exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (1944 and 1945), the Los Angeles Museum of Art (1945), the Butler Art Institute (1943 and 1944), and the Philadelphia Museum of Art (1946) among others.
Beasts of War dated 1946 is a rare allegorical anti-World War II painting done in the manner of German Expressionism. |
