| Born in Switzerland on Dec. 31, 1861 of English parents. Kirkham was educated in Switzerland until age 17. He then continued his studies for three years in London, England. By 1883 he had moved to London, Canada where he was a friend and painting partner of William Lees Judson; by 1885 he was in Menominee, MI. About 1908 he settled in southern California and is said to have painted with Thomas Moran. He was a resident of Los Angeles until his death on June 27, 1922. His works include scen (showing 500 of 814 characters). |
