Robert Vincent Kennedy (b. 1938)
Robert Kennedy, Architect is the son of painter J. William Kennedy and Enamelist Nan Kennedy. A graduate of the University of Illinois in 1961, he sistered his architectural career with a secondary one in art.
From 1961 until 1968 he owned an architectural rendering business in a studio overlooking the University of Illinois campus, producing over two hundred paintings of architectural projects for Midwest and East Coast firms. He was Director of Design at Roy D. Murphy, Architects in Urbana, Illinois, a member of The Architects Collaborative in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and founded Kennedy/Montgomery Architects and Robert Kennedy and Associates, Architects in Boston in 1976. He also summered in the Cape Cod fishing village of Wellfleet, where he painted waterfront scenes outdoors. He has traveled extensively in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa with paints and sketchbooks. He is known on the Boston Waterfront for his pen and ink sketches there in addition to his architectural work and furniture design.
