|  The following was submitted, July 2004, by Rita Kent, widow of the artist.
A native of Maine, Robert Kent was a graduate of the Art Center College of Design, Los Angeles and the Rhode Island School of Design. His career in illustration and art direction began in New York in the 50's, then to San Francisco in the 60's.
During the 80's Kent lived on California's north coast. His paintings were exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the United States and in the Royal Watercolour Society, London.
He was a member of the National Watercolor Society, the West Coast Watercolor Society and the San Francisco Society of Illustrators.
