Biography from Trailside Galleries:
Scott Kennedy is and artist with an exceptional diversity of style and medium. He is always exploring new techniques and methods to best express his work. His subject range within the broad spectrum of the West?paintings of wilderness, wildlife, fly fishing, dog sledding and figures of those who inhabit the Western landscape.

He works in watercolor, pencil, acrylic, oil and bronze. His most recent and exciting works are in oil and are composed with what appears to be a mature balance of detail and texture along with rich glazing, unique compositions, and use of dark and light.

Among his favorite artists are Andrew Wyeth, John Singer Sargent, and Maxfield Parrish, and their influence can be seen at times in his work.

Scott is a native of the West. Born and raised along the Rockies, his outdoor experience weighs heavy in his subject. His experiences include summer and winter mountaineering, fishing, hunting, river guiding and dog sledding in Colorado, Wyoming and Alaska.

A painter all his life, he sold his first work in junior high. After graduating with a BFA in art from Colorado State University in 1981 he pursued a full time art career. Since that time there has been over eighty published editions of his work including the Greenwich Workshop for thirteen years. Now he has his own in-house publishing company. He has had prints that were listed in US Art magazine as being among the top selling prints in North America.

His work has been seen in Wildlife Art News, US Art, Décor, Sporting Classics, Fly Fishing, Colorado Outdoors and other magazines. A devout Christian, Scott takes it as an act of reverence to paint the beauty of Nature.

He is married to Becky, the "love of his life" for 21 years. They have four children and a daughter-in-law, "Which are all quite talented," Scott would say with a smile. Scott and his family live in Windsor, a small town in Northern Colorado. Their home and studio is along the Poudre River. There, Scott enjoys floating the river in his kayak, hunting waterfowl with his boys, walks with his family?as well as all the amenities that go along living in a small community with kids active in sports, activities, and a church family.
