| Born in San Francisco, CA in 1880. Keane studied locally at the Mark Hopkins Institute and at the AIC. For several years he was director of the Minneapolis Society of Fine Arts and initiated the building of the Minneapolis Art Institute. By 1915 he had settled in Chicago where he served as dean of the AIC. During the 1920s he returned to his native city due to ill health. Returning to the Midwest, in 1930 he established his own school in Toledo, OH while living on a farm in nearby Custar. H (showing 500 of 834 characters). |
