Biography from The Marshall - LeKAE Gallery:
Thomas P. Kelly has a name synonymous with VITRIX HOT GLASS STUDIO. Following is his statement.

When I went to work for Bob Rockwell in 1982 I had no idea that glass would end up playing such a major role in my life. Mr. Rockwell is the world's leading collector of Carder-Steuben glass. (The Rockwell Museum in Corning is now the home of that collection.) Under the guidance of Mr. Rockwell, I had the opportunity to handle and examine the work of Frederick Carder.

After working with Mr. Rockwell for three years, my attention was drawn down the street to the glass studios of Alex Brand and Thomas Buechner. After my persistence, I was offered part time employment at both studios where I had the opportunity to learn from two distinctly different artists each having their own unique talents; Eventually, I found myself blowing glass full time with Thomas S. Buechner III at Vitrix Hot Glass Studio. At Vitrix, visiting artists such as Lino Tagliapietra and Fritz Deisbach educated and influenced me.

Over the next ten years, my glass working skills and aesthetic sensitivity continued to develop so that when Thomas Buechner made the decision to leave glass to grow in another direction, I was ready to take over ownership of Vitrix Hot Glass Studio.
