| A graduate of the Pratt Institute and winner of the school's Alumni Achievement Award in 2001, Tobi Kahn is a painter and sculptor of abstract, biomorphic shapes. From 1985, he has been a professor at the School of Visual Arts in New York and a resident of Long Island City where his studio of many rooms is in an old brick commercial building.
Kahn has a bachelor's degree from Hunter College as well as an MFA from Pratt. His German Jewish grandparents escaped Nazi Germany, and he grew up in New York City with many friends whose family had died in concentration camps. |
