This biography from the Archives of AskART:
The following is from Cona Pilinga:

William Blaine "Bill" Kratzer
Born Colorado Springs, 1924
Died Clarksdale, Arizona, 1997

As a teenager, William Kratzer became ill with rheumatic fever. It was during his prolonged recovery that he developed his knowledge of and talent for art. He later studied under Charles Bunnell, but remained largely self -taught and later gave private lessons.

William Kratzer preferred to paint in watercolors. His favorite subjects were fishing and landscapes. He also utilized his knowledge of architectural design to paint Southwest adobe buildings.

He exhibited in the Western Annual of the Denver Art Museum and the El Paso County Biennial. He won awards at the Blossom Festival in Canon city, Colorado; the Tri-State Exhibition, Colorado State Fair, Cheyenne Wyoming, and Picture of the Year at the Fine Arts Center.

He had one-man shows at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, the Canon City Fine Center, and the Nix Art Gallery, Colorado Springs.
