| Born and raised in Lake Forest, Illinois, and living in San Anselmo, California, Yaz Krehbiel is a painter of western landscapes and also does figurative ink drawing. He took his undergraduate work at Dartmouth College, graduating in June 1991; and then studied from 1992 to 1993 at the Art Institute of Chicago with Dan Gustin. Additional art training was at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California from 1993 to 1994; and in the summers of 1997, '98 and '99 at the International School of Art in Montecastello di Bibio, Italy where he studied drawing and painting with Nic Carone and Jake Berthot.
Krehbiel received a Master of Fine Arts Degree from Indiana University in May 2000, working with Robert Barnes, and then taught Color Theory and Two-Dimensional Design.
In 1994-1995, he organized a mural project with twenty inner city children, which under his direction was completed and installed in a downtown Oakland neighborhood.
Living in California, he has worked in Marketing in the Silicon Valley. His artwork has been published in the "River City Journal", March 2001; "Dartmouth Magazine", Septemer 2000; and "New American Paintings" July 2000.
