| Born in Berkeley, CA on Oct. 25, 1912. Kavin studied at the CSFA and with A. Kravchenko in Moscow. Four years were spent in New Mexico during the 1930s. She wed artist Jon Cornin in 1940 and returned with him to a studio-home in Oakland. Using the pseudonym Corka, the Cornins produced cartoons for the Saturday Evening Post and New Yorker. As well as figure studies in casein tempera, she has done wood engravings for books and made tapestries. She died in Oakland, CA on April 9, 2003. Exh: (showing 500 of 853 characters). |
