| The following, submitted October, 2005, is from Kira S. King, Ph.D.
Boris Luban was my grandfather. He was born in Russia but was
raised in Belgium where he studied art. He brought his family to
America in the early 1920s and became a prominent portrait painter in
New York. He painted portraits of many famous people. He
painted a beautiful portraint of Thomas Edison, who sat for the last
two sittings.
His works were featured in the New York Times on several occasions.
He died in 1968.
