| Born in Pennsylvania on Feb. 18, 1908. Lemon moved to Seattle as a child and learned to sculpt from his father. Leaving Seattle in 1937 he came to San Francisco to work on art projects for the GGIE. When the fair closed he and his artist-wife Jerry O’Day bought an abandoned codfishery on the west shore of Belvedere where they operated an art gallery. Their gallery was a gathering place for local artists until 1965. The Lemons then lived on San Francisco Bay in a sailboat. While en route to (showing 500 of 725 characters). |
