| Diana Levinson (b. 1949)
Born in Bethesda, Maryland, in 1949, Diana Levinson began painting 30 years ago. She did her formal art training at The San Francisco Art Institute in Northern California. Her paintings recall the tenents of abstract expressionism, along with other modernist inclinations. Levinson has a love of exploring many different mediums including drawing, printmaking, collaging, painting and bookmaking.
Levinson's first solo-exhibition was at Eckert Fine Art in Naples, Florida. She is exhibiting a solo show at The Butler Institute of American Art in 2006. She has shown work at the Katonah Museum as well as many other group shows. Levinson's work hangs in numerous private and corporate collections across the country and in Europe. She lives and works in rural Connecticut.
