Born in Salt Lake City, UT on Jan. 14, 1904. Lauritzen settled in Los Angeles in 1917. By the 1930s he was working there as art director for the Automobile Ass’n of America. In his leisure he was active in the local art scene and painted landscapes and cityscapes. His illustrations, which appeared in Touring Topics and other national magazines, earned him a medal from the Art Directors Club. He died in Los Angeles on May 27, 1952.
