Biography from Red Raven Gallery:
| Donna Fleury Loos was born in Hayattville, Wyoming, in 1931, one of eight children. She graduated with honors in 1963 from (then) Eastern Montana College in Billings, Montana, and began teaching art in the Billings Public Schools that same year. Throughout her teaching career she was known as producing artist too and showed in many galleries of the time.
Loos held state offices in the Montana Arts Educators Association, the Montana Institute of the Arts and the Montana Institute of the Arts Foundation. She worked as a volunteer laborer in the beginning of Yellowstone Art Museum.
She is an activist in the arts, judging shows, sponsoring workshops, speaking and traveling around Montana. The high point of her teaching career was organizing the curriculum for many of Billings Junior High Schools.
She and her husband Karl raised two daughters. Donna Loos, now widow, retired from teaching in 1991 and keeps a studio in Billings. "I seem always to be a late bloomer", she says, "at this late date I am finally maturing into the painter I thought I could be."
