| Duane Ralph Light was born in Hampton, Illinois on January 16, 1924. Light studied at the American Academy in Chicago, the New York Institute of Photography, and University of California at La Jolla. He lived in Escondido, California for 33 years before moving to the Mesquite Arts Center in Texas in 2003. He died there on February 11, 2008.
