| | Born in Worcester, MA on Oct. 17, 1853. Nora Landers studied at the NAD where she won the bronze Elliott medal. Shortly after the turn of the century, she moved to San Diego and built a cottage called "The Modjeska" in La Jolla on La Jolla Avenue. Some of her paintings were done on leftover shingles from the construction. She was active in the local art scene and one of the original members of the La Jolla Art Ass'n in 1919. Landers died in San Diego on April 20, 1950.
