Emilio Lanzi was born in Bern, Switzerland on June 30, 1884. Lanzi (aka Ernest Emil Lanz) studied at the Swiss Academy of Art and in Paris. By 1931 he had settled in Los Angeles. While employed at Schenck's Music House, he painted portraits and still lifes in his leisure. He died in in Los Angeles on May 6, 1965.
