| Born in Washington, DC on June 7, 1867. “Annie” Briggs was a resident of Oakland at 530 13th Street during the 1890s-1910. She studied painting with Wm Keith and in London, Paris, and Holland. At the turn of the century she shared a studio with Lillie O'Ryan in San Francisco at 414 Pine Street. After marrying George W. Lane, she settled on a farm in Morgan Hill, CA where she remained until her demise on April 18, 1945. Her landscapes include scenes of Alameda, Oakland, and Fruitvale.
