Franz Friedrich Johann Gottlieb Lieder, Austrian 1780-1859 Born at Potsdam on July 3, 1780, and died at Pest, May 18, 1859. Franz Lieder, became a Viennese court painter, specializing in portraits, historical renditions, interiors, and miniatures. Highly detailed and scientifically oriented, he worked on early experiments and a venture in the art of lithography.
