Georges Lemmen was born in Schaarbeek, nearby Brussels Belgium. As the son of an architect, he was encouraged by his father in his artistic leanings. His father enrolled him in the local art academy, but Georges quickly tired of the tedious instructors and soon school dropped out.
Inspired by his friendship with Georges Seurat, Lemmen began experimenting with Divisionism and adopted a Pointillist style. This unique style of painting is characterized by a method (showing 500 of 1387 characters). |
