| Born in London, England, Gerald Leake immigrated to the United States at the beginning of the twentieth century, splitting his time between New York City and Marathon, Florida. While in Florida, during the winter months, Leake taught in Key West where he held classes in Ernest Hemmingway's house. He made his mark as a fine artist and illustrator, notably during WWII, when he did poster art for the Navy and his work appeared in magazines, such as Pictorial Review, Read on Home (showing 500 of 1797 characters). |
