This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Portland, OR on Feb. 3, 1898. "Hal" Lanfair studied at the Los Angeles School of Art & Design, Nicholas Haz School, Otis Art Institute, and the Huntington School in Cleveland, OH. He was a designer and illustrator for Hollywood movie studios during 1930-45. He died in Los Angeles on April 20, 1981. Exh: Cleveland Museum, 1932; Zeitlin Gallery (LA), 1932; AIC, 1932-34; SFAA, 1940; SFMA, 1941. In: Cleveland Museum.
